Surf the Cotentin wave

Siouville, Biville, Vauville, Sciotot, Le Rozel, Surtainville… The west coast of Cotentin is brimming with surf spots, with the Channel Islands off in the distance.

Watersports historians are convinced that it was in Jersey that surfing was first seen in Europe. Today, surfers from all over Europe come to Siouville-Hague, a certified surfing town recognised by the French Surfing Federation. Depending on the tides and the swell and wind conditions, they can choose their ideal spot.

Cotentin is a great place for all watersports and is becoming more and more well-known for these sports.

There are more than 20 watersports’ clubs along the Cotentin coastline, just waiting to offer you that dose of adrenaline, a breath of fresh air and to take you on outings, whether you are a beginner or more experienced. They offer sea rowing, surfing, kayaking, catamaran trips, sailing dinghies, sailing, stand up paddle, windsurfing, sand yachting, kite surfing, waveski, diving, hiking through the waters, etc. You’re guaranteed to find the activity that suits you!
