During periods of large tides, the waters retreat from the shores of Cotentin, leaving behind vast open spaces perfect for shellfish gathering as a family.

At low tide, the sea retreats leaving the vast foreshore. In Cotentin, the beaches on the west coast, on the Côte des Isles, or to the east, in the Val de Saire are all ideal for shellfish gathering.

It’s time to get some fresh air and gather some delicious shellfish. If you’re really lucky, you might even catch a lobster or a spider crab!

In the rockpools left behind by the sea in between tides, you’ll find prawns and “bouquet” prawns.

Back from your trip, you’ll be able to admire your catch and then treat yourselves to a feast! You’re guaranteed to have had a good time searching!
