The Phare du Cap Lévi is a lighthouse in Fermanville, a charming little place half way between Gatteville-le-Phare and Cherbourg. This lighthouse is 28 metres high, has 113 steps to the top and is particularly eye-catching due to its geometric shape. It is square, and not the standard cylinder shape like its neighbour in Gatteville. The Phare du Cap Lévi was built in 1858, destroyed during the Landings of 1944, and then rebuilt after the war.

It is surrounded by wild landscapes and a magnificent coastline with changing colours. It is the departure or arrival point of some pleasant walks that can be done all year round. You’ll walk past the superb little Pignot port and the fort of Cap Lévi.
