Built between 1829 and 1834, the Gatteville lighthouse is the 2nd tallest lighthouse in France. 75-metres high, its construction required 11,000 blocks (7,400 tonnes) of granite. After climbing the 365 steps lit by 52 windows, visitors are rewarded with a magnificent view over Val de Saire and the English Channel. The site is closed in the case of strong winds or storms.
