The Mare de Vauville National Nature Reserve is a protected natural site of prime importance for Cotentin. Consisting of a vast pool of fresh water cut off from the sea by a narrow strip of dune, the reserve is home to more than 2,300 species. It can be freely accessed but strict regulations must be respected.
